About Flock of Five Gift and Art Emporium, LLC
Occupying the former Sulphur Post Office building on East Thomas Street, Flock of Five Gift and Art Emporium, LLC fills roughly 7,000 square feet with hand-crafted goods made by local artisans. The inventory spans hand-cast jewelry, metal art, wood art, shell and driftwood art, original paintings, handmade soaps, bath bombs, pottery, candles, jams and jellies, purses, wreaths, and signed books by local authors. Shoppers looking to create rather than just collect will also find art and crafting supplies along with jewelry findings. Louisiana and Cajun-themed souvenirs, flavored coffees, and specialty and custom tee-shirts round out the merchandise mix, and custom gift baskets can be assembled on the spot.
The store is divided into named rooms — the Fleur de Lis Room, the Pelican Room, and the Contraband Room among them — each carrying its own mix of artists, vintage items, collectibles, and antique or hand-painted furniture. A 9-foot chainsaw-carved pelican, a 12-foot replica of the historic Sabine Pass Lighthouse complete with a revolving light and copper top, and driftwood sculptures give the space a character that goes beyond standard retail. Located just outside the Lake Charles metro area in Sulphur, the shop is handicap-accessible from the Elizabeth Street entrance and welcomes buses and large groups. Alligator and exotic jerky round out the more unexpected offerings on the shelves.
