Hollier's Cajun Kitchen
About Hollier's Cajun Kitchen
Rooted in a family tradition that stretches back to January 1980, Hollier's Cajun Kitchen on Ruth Street in Sulphur has grown from a small roadside operation into a well-established destination for Cajun cooking in the greater Lake Charles area. Wayne and Marie Hollier, along with their children Michael and Jennifer, opened the current restaurant in 1995 after years of wholesaling and retailing boudin, sausage, jambalaya, and seasoning from a USDA-inspected plant on Napoleon Street. That deep background in Cajun food production shapes the kitchen's approach to this day.
The restaurant runs a lunch buffet Monday through Saturday and a separate seafood buffet in the evenings, drawing regulars and travelers alike with a spread of Cajun specialties. Wednesday's all-you-can-eat BBQ lunch — known locally as BMW, or Big Meat Wednesday — features chicken, sausage, pork steak, pork ribs, rice dressing, beans, and potato salad. Marinated steaks, boiled crawfish, and seafood round out a menu that earns the restaurant its Google rating of 4.2 out of 5 across more than 1,400 reviews. The kitchen opens early in the morning and serves through the evening, making it a practical stop for both midday meals and dinner.
A second location on Cities Service Highway in Sulphur has since expanded the family's reach, bringing the same home-style Cajun cooking to more of the Southwest Louisiana community.
